Shimonoseki City Aquarium - Kaikyokan

Shimonoseki City Aquarium - Kaikyokan is an aquarium located in Yamaguchi Prefecture. It takes only a 5-minute ferry ride from Mojiko to Karato, followed by a few minutes' walk to reach the aquarium. The entrance fee is 2000 yen! Inside the aquarium, you can see about 500 species and approximately 20,000 marine creatures. It also features Japan's largest penguin exhibit, 'Penguin Village,' which houses over 100 penguins. Additionally, the aquarium showcases various types of pufferfish and Japan's only full-body skeleton of a blue whale, making it a highly cost-effective aquarium to visit!
