Miho no Matsubara

A scenic spot that extends from Shimizu Port in Shizuoka City to the east coast of the Miho Peninsula, which extends to Suruga Bay. Looking up at Mt. Fuji, the scenery interwoven with the green of about 30,000 black pine forests, the white waves, and the blue of the sea is just like a painting. Since the Manyo period, many poems and paintings praising this landscape have been preserved, and there are many familiar works such as "Fuji Thirty-six Views Suruga Miho no Matsubara" by Ukiyo-e artist Hiroshige Utagawa. It is also registered as one of the constituent heritages of the World Cultural Heritage "Mt. Fuji - Object of Faith and Source of Art".
