The Fullerton Hotel Singapore

Our staycation at the heritage landmark two months ago. We booked for one night stay in the Premier Courtyard Room celebrate sis birthday using the S$100 SingapoRediscovers Vouchers. The room package also includes breakfast and S$120 dining credit which was certainly value for money! Despite being the most basic room, the Premier Courtyard Room offers with a generous space of 42 square meter with a comfortable king-size bed, en suite bathroom with a huge bathtub and shower stall with overhead shower. The large windows provide views of the sunlit atrium lobby overlooking the courtyard and the room itself was also pretty bright. The room also has a well-stocked minibar which was chargeable, Nespresso coffee machine with complimentary coffee capsules and selection of TWG tea available. Built in 1928, the Fullerton Hotel Singapore originally known as the Fullerton Building, and also as the General Post Office Building is gazetted as a National monument of Singapore in December 2015. As “Mile Zero”, this place was one-time literal centre of Singapore where all the roads were stemmed from here and road distances were measured from this point, a system that can trace its roots to the Roman Empire. The Fullerton Heritage Gallery at Level 1 was really interesting as it gave us an insight to Singapore’s rich heritage featuring rare postal archival materials dating back to 1960s as well as videos of pioneer personalities who have lived, worked and played in the precinct. There is also a still-functioning colonial red postal pillar box where you can relive the romance of posting a letter or postcard. This was certainly one of the best staycations we’ve been on as the hotel was really thoughtful to send a slice of lovely chocolate cake for sis birthday. #singaporetrip #awesomepic #deliciousfood #staycation
