Animal encounters at Singapore Zoo

#zoofun Singapore Zoo is an attraction that locals will have been to at least once in their lifetimes, because school will usually organise excursions to the zoo. Not much introduction is required as countries from all around the world will have a zoo, apart from the fact that in view of the year of the Tiger, all eyes will be on the lookout for the majestic white tigers; a pair of siblings from Indonesia, and the Malayan brown tigers. The zoo is segregated to various themes according to the species of animals. Their enclosures also stimulate their natural habitats as closely as possible. There are also indoor exhibitions featuring animals in tanks specially created to look like their natural habitats. They are also great for seeking shade during sweltering weather or shelter in case of rain. They have different animal shows depicting different themes, from domestic animals such as golden retrievers rescued by the zoo performing tricks by their trainers, to seals splashing water to those seated at the front rows. The zoo has also brought back feeding sessions for some of the animals for an additional fee and online booking is also required; great for the kids to have fun doing so. Booking of admission tickets and the date and time of visit has to be done online before coming down due to covid restrictions. Thankfully, the animal shows also can be booked online and slots open 2 hours before; previously visitors needed to physically queue at the venue, hence it was not a very pleasant experience having to spend time queuing for so long and dealing with the uncertainty of not being able to enter due to the limited seats available. Public transport is limited but still possible as the zoo is not the most accessible; alternatively shuttle services are available, or private hire transport or self drive is possible too.
