Heritage shophouses

Address - Purvis Street, Bugis Purvis Street is one of the three historically significant streets that formed the Hainan enclave in Singapore back in the day! The other two streets were Seah Street and Middle Road, where immigrants from Hainan settled and housed themselves in. This was the supposed birthplace of Singapore’s iconic Hainanese chicken rice that we all know and love. Today, these shophouses have had their exterior facades conserved as part of government efforts to preserve our national heritage, but with much needed touch-ups of course. Here, you will find a multitude of cafes and restaurants serving a variety of cuisines.
