Wucai Pool, a paradise on earth.

Wucai Pool is located in the Huanglong Scenic Area in Songpan County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. The Huanglong Wucai Pool covers an area of 21,000 square meters and has 693 colorful pools. Surrounded by mountains, the naturally calcified pools are arranged in a staggered pattern. From above, it looks like a giant palette created by nature. The origin of the name "Huanglong": The spectacular surface travertine flow in the Huanglong Scenic Area meanders through the primeval forest, resembling a golden dragon soaring through the sky, hence the name "Huanglong" (Yellow Dragon). The calcified colorful pools are the main attraction of Huanglong. There are 8 groups of over 2,300 colorful pools in Huanglong, connected in layers and arranged in terraces from high to low. These colorful pools range from a few square meters to several dozen square meters. The calcium carbonate in the pools forms different types of travertine with various organic and inorganic substances during the deposition process. Combined with the changes in light, the pools take on different colors. Therefore, people call the colorful pools of Huanglong "Wucai Pool" (Five-Color Pool). Wucai Pool is located at an altitude of 3,576 meters, 4,166 meters from the entrance. It is the calcified colorful pool group at the top of Huanglong. The 693 calcified pools are like colorful pearls embedded in the primeval forest, known as the "paradise on earth." Walking along the pool, countless colorful pools of different sizes and shapes are like watercolor palettes filled with various colors, such as blue-green, sea blue, light blue, etc., which are gorgeous and unique. It is like a fairy's emerald scattered among the mountains, beautiful and magical, known as the "eyes of Huanglong," and is the essence of the Huanglong Valley Scenic Area. In 1992, the Huanglong Scenic Area was listed as a World Natural Heritage Site and is a national 5A-level tourist attraction and a national scenic area.
