A Water Oasis Amidst the Fields of Sumba Island

I visited a hidden oasis called 'Bendungan Waikelo Sawah' that emerges from the idyllic landscapes of Sumba Island. Driving through what seemed like endless rice fields, I wondered what could possibly be ahead. Then, suddenly, a breathtaking view appeared. It felt like a dream. The oasis in the photos was stunning, but the surrounding terraced fields were equally beautiful. There were even people swimming, and I regretted not bringing my swimsuit. You can reach this place from Waingapu Airport, but only by car or motorbike. It's best to go with a guide or a tour, or you can rent a motorbike. There are several tours available, which is a great option as they also take you to other spots!
