Suizhou Yan Emperor Shennong

The Yan Emperor is revered in Chinese traditional culture as one of the three sovereigns and five emperors, considered the inventor of agriculture and medicine. He is regarded by the people as a deity who can bless the harvest and the health of the populace, and thus is also seen as a patron saint by medical halls and pharmacies. In addition, the Yan Emperor is believed to be a god with the function of punishing evil and protecting local agricultural production. His legend reflects the ancient Chinese farmers' wishes for abundant harvests, favorable weather, and their aspirations for a better life. Suizhou, the hometown of the Yan Emperor Shennong, makes full use of local resources, integrating the human ancestor Yan Emperor into a memorial park with statues, grand halls, and temples, providing a place for the descendants of the Huaxia to seek their roots and worship their ancestors, offering a cultural stronghold for future generations to understand the five thousand years of Chinese culture.
