National Heritage Check-in: Master of the Nets Garden (National Level II)

Master of the Nets Garden is located at No. 11 Kuojiatou Lane, Daichengqiao Road, Gusu District. It is a second batch national key cultural relic protection site, from the Qing Dynasty, categorized as ancient architecture. The Master of the Nets Garden was originally the site of the 'Wanjuan Hall' of Shi Zhengzhi, a minister of the Southern Song Dynasty. It was first named Master of the Nets Garden in the 35th year of the Qianlong era (1770). The total area is less than one-sixth of the Humble Administrator's Garden, but it demonstrates the concept of 'small within large', with a rigorous layout, clear primary and secondary divisions, and rich variations. There are gardens within the garden, and scenes beyond the scenes, reaching the ultimate in intricacy and depth. Although there are many buildings, they do not feel crowded; although the mountains and pools are small, they do not feel cramped. The Master of the Nets Garden is known for its ingenious layout, compact structure, and the harmonious proportion of architectural finesse and spatial scale. The entrance fee for the Master of the Nets Garden is 40 yuan, but it is free with a Suzhou Garden Card, and you can enter the garden directly by swiping your ID card.
