The Suzhou City Wall Museum is located within the southern section of the Xiangmen segment of the Suzhou City Wall

The exhibition area includes two levels, divided into six exhibition halls: 'Preface Hall,' 'Millennium Chronicle of the City,' 'Stories of the City Gates,' 'Inside and Outside the City,' 'Memories of the City Wall,' and 'Reappearance of the City Wall.' These halls showcase the historical changes and archaeological achievements of the Suzhou City Wall. The 'Millennium Chronicle of the City' hall describes the development of the Suzhou City Wall from the Spring and Autumn period to the Republic of China period. The platform-style city wall model intuitively displays the layout and structure of the Suzhou City Wall. The 'water and land adjacent, parallel waterways' double-grid city layout is the most important feature of Suzhou City. Suzhou's unique double moat setup enhances the defensive function of the city wall and also provides a hydraulic function to regulate the water levels inside and outside the city. The Suzhou City Wall is a historical context. As an important link in the memory chain of Suzhou's urban civilization, the ancient city wall has accompanied Suzhou for over 2,500 years, witnessing the Suzhou-style life of ordinary people through the long years and becoming part of the organic life of Suzhou culture.
