Suzhou Museum

Transportation: Drive from out of town to Shanghai, park at the transportation hub, and transfer to the museum's special bus line. The bus passes through Pingjiang Road, costing 3 yuan per person, which is very convenient. On the way back, board the bus at the drop-off point to return to the transportation hub. However, we missed the 4 o'clock bus, so we took a taxi due to time constraints, costing a flat rate of 25 yuan. Museum: The museum building itself features white walls and black tiles, with sloped roofs combined with glass roofs, wooden and stone roofs complementing each other, creating a layered height. Natural light filters through the glass, illuminating the exhibition halls. Suzhou Museum has four main exhibitions: Treasures of Wu, National Treasures of Wu Pagoda, Elegant Wu, and Wu School Paintings and Calligraphy. The Treasures of Wu series contains profound artifacts, full of vitality, including prehistoric pottery and jade; Spring and Autumn period bronzes and jade; Six Dynasties celadon and Five Dynasties secret-color porcelain; themed exhibition rooms such as the tomb of Zhang Shicheng's mother, Mrs. Cao, from the Yuan Dynasty, and the burial items from the tomb of Wang Xijue from the Ming Dynasty. Personally, I prefer ceramics, jade, and calligraphy and painting. The museum offers free guided tours at scheduled times, and it is recommended to rent an audio guide. The museum's cultural and creative shop and café are also great places to relax. Prince Zhong's Mansion of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom: The exit of Suzhou Museum passes through Prince Zhong's Mansion of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, which is the most complete surviving palace of the peasant uprising army in Chinese history. We didn't have time to visit it, so we'll save it for next time. Food: There are many specialty restaurants with a wide range of choices, and there are also cost-effective shops in the alleys.
