|A Disappointment. Tongli is located in Wujiang District, Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, east of the ancient canal on the shore of Taihu Lake. It was built in the Song Dynasty and has a history of more than 1,000 years. Tongli was originally called Futu, and was renamed Tongli in the Song Dynasty. Tongli is known for its "three many": many famous people, many Ming and Qing Dynasty buildings, and many rivers and bridges. It is one of the six famous water towns in Jiangnan (Zhouzhuang, Tongli, Luzhi, Xitang, Wuzhen, and Nanxun). Free parking! ⏰⏰Opening hours: 08:00–17:15 🎟🎟Tickets: CNY 100 for adults, CNY 80 if booked one day in advance, free after 17:00 on non-holidays. 🎟Half-price tickets: Full-time university students and below (excluding adult or continuing education students) with valid ID; seniors aged 60–69 with valid ID; children 1.4 m (excluding)–1.5 m (including) tall and minors aged 6 (excluding)–18 (excluding) with a resident ID card or student ID. 🗺Recommended attractions: The highlights of Tongli Ancient Town can be summarized as "one garden" (Retreat & Reflection Garden), "two halls" (Chongben Hall and Jiayin Hall), and "three bridges" (Taiping Bridge, Jili Bridge, and Changqing Bridge). Recommended route: Retreat & Reflection Garden - Gengle Hall - Chuanxin Lane - Nanyuan Teahouse - Three Bridges - Jiayin Hall - Chongben Hall - Ming and Qing Street (you can get a map at the visitor center, or just wander around). 🥙🥙Food: Water shield, Zhuangyuan pig's trotter, begonia cake, radish cake, sock bottom shortbread, and gorgon cake. 🏠🏠Accommodation: There are many accommodation options, including ordinary homestays, high-end homestays converted from ancient houses and gardens, and boutique hotels converted from Lize Girls' School. 🎟🎟Special activities: Rowing boat: CNY 120/boat, for up to 6 people. You can share a boat with other tourists. Tips: The ancient town ticket is valid for 48 hours. Each attraction can only be visited once with the ticket.
