Royal Botanic Garden in Sydney

The Royal Botanic Garden in Sydney makes for a lovely morning or afternoon stroll. It's located within walking distance of the famous Sydney Opera House, right by Sydney Harbour. It's open e every day from 7 o'clock in the morning to late afternoon or early evening depending on the season. As you would expect from a botanical garden, you will be surrounded by flowers, trees and other plants. It's especially worthwhile to go here in spring. But you may also come across some smaller wildlife such as birds, insects, fish, frogs and the amazing local flying foxes. In the heart of the garden lies The Calyx, a building that is part shop, Cafe and event space. Though the gardens themselves are free to enter, a donation is expected to enter The Calyx.
