Taining Ancient Town, the complex of the Shangshu Di buildings

Located at the southern foot of the Wuyi Mountains in Taining County, it covers an area of 226.5 square kilometers. It not only has the best-preserved genuine Ming Dynasty residential buildings in the south of the Yangtze River and the national key cultural relics protection unit—the Shangshu Di building complex, but also includes architectural works from the early Ming to the late Qing period, spanning over 500 years, making it the most well-preserved Ming Dynasty residential complex in the Jiangnan region. It has a history of 1340 years. Known as the 'Ancient Town of the Han and Tang Dynasties, Famous City of the Two Song Dynasties,' it was also the central Soviet area during the second domestic revolutionary war. The 'former residences of Zhu De and Zhou Enlai' and a large number of precious cultural relics are well preserved.
