Taipei's recommended green plant art bar 'Monkie'
Recently, I've been loving this stylish bar. The cocktails are almost always a hit, each one unique in its own way. The cocktail designs are beautiful, and the overall ambiance and lighting in the bar make it very comfortable, perfect for a drink. 🍸
🌟 The green plant art on the bar and the rows of liquor shelves behind it look stunning under the lighting. The arrangement of tables and chairs and the appropriate spacing make it very comfortable to sit. The copper mirrors on the ceiling and walls reflect the space, making it feel spacious.
🥂 There's a drink not on the menu called 'Old Taipei,' made with tea-distilled vodka or tequila. Each table is served complimentary popcorn, which is perfectly sweet and salty. 💕
🥂 Each person has a minimum order of two cocktails, with no time limit. The bar is newly opened but doesn't have many seats, so it's recommended to make a reservation in advance!

Delicious Homemade Dishes in Maokong, Taipei: Qingquan Mountain Villa
Maokong Station in Taipei is renowned for its beautiful natural scenery and tea culture, and its homemade dishes are also very popular. The Maokong area primarily focuses on tea cultivation, so many restaurants and tea houses offer tea-themed dishes. Tea-smoked chicken, marinated with local tea leaves, has a unique flavor as the chicken absorbs the tea aroma. Fresh cilantro paired with tea leaves makes for a refreshing and popular appetizer. Local restaurants offer fresh seasonal vegetables, usually served stir-fried or as a cold dish. Rice cooked with tea water, paired with seasonal vegetables and meats, offers a distinctive flavor. 🌟🌟👍
These dishes not only showcase the local characteristics of Maokong but also allow visitors to enjoy the tea culture and natural scenery while savoring the food. If you have the chance to visit, be sure to try them yourself! 👍👍💯
Outdoor Hidden Gem Night View and Beer at 'Zhangmen' Breeze Songgao
We should all be grateful that the craft beer bar 'Zhangmen' on the 4th floor of Breeze Songgao hasn't closed down 😂. It's truly a hidden gem and very affordable. The spacious open-air terrace allows you to enjoy the moon, the Taipei 101 building, and the million-dollar night view while sipping a beer (and maybe even catch a glimpse of a beauty, just kidding with the old joke) 💕
🌟 The beer selection is decent, though slightly smaller compared to other branches. They offer classic styles and various IPAs with a good range of bitter and mature flavors. The fried snacks are just okay, but they go well with the beer!
🌟 'Zhangmen Craft Beer' remains a beloved spot. It's not as crowded as other places in Xinyi District, making it super chill and relaxing. Beers range from $220 to $350, with seasonal specials available. You're sure to find a flavor you love 👍

Hike to Elephant Mountain
Elephant Mountain (象山 or Xiangshan) is a mountain in eastern Taipei City. The relatively short trail up the 184-meter mountain provides unbeatable city views, making it Taipei’s most famous hike and one of Taiwan’s most well-known attractions.
The Elephant Mountain trailhead is a mere 0.85 km (0.5 mi) from Taipei 101.
This means you can hop directly from the country’s most famous landmark and ritziest neighborhood to a natural, jungle setting in less time that it takes to crush one bubble tea.

The hotel offers delivery service for Fuzhen Soy Milk! Save time from queuing.
This time, I booked a 3-night stay at City Suites (Taipei Beimen Branch) through Trip.com. Check-in is from 3:00 PM to 6:00 AM the next day, and check-out is before 11:00 AM. No meals are included, so the price is quite affordable. The hotel is very close to the metro station 👍🏻. There's a 7-11 right next to the hotel, making it convenient to buy snacks and drinks.
I booked a twin room this time, and the room was bigger than expected. There was even a sofa, so there's no problem with luggage storage. The environment is clean and comfortable with minimal noise 🤩.
One more thing to mention, the hotel offers delivery service for Fuzhen Soy Milk. This breakfast shop is very popular in Taipei, and you usually have to queue for at least an hour. If you place an order with the front desk before 5:00 PM the day before, it will be delivered to the hotel the next morning. You can enjoy your breakfast leisurely at the hotel 🤤. You can choose between thick egg with youtiao or savory rice ball with egg. The price is not much higher than ordering on-site, but it saves time!

Qingtian Gang in Yangmingshan, Taipei
You can take bus S15 from Jiantan MRT Station directly to Qingtian Gang. In the summer, the temperature at Qingtian Gang in the morning is 5 to 6 degrees lower than in the city, making it very cool and pleasant.
The Qingtian Gang grassland is one of the most beautiful areas in Yangmingshan. The vast, flat grassland combined with easy-to-walk wooden paths makes it suitable for all ages. You can closely observe the ecology of the free-roaming water buffaloes at Qingtian Gang and enjoy a distant view of Taipei City. Upon arriving at Qingtian Gang, your mood will instantly brighten.
If you don't want to take the bus back directly, you can hike to Lengshuikeng or Jyuansi Waterfall to absorb some phytoncides. Lengshuikeng is closer, and on the way, you will pass through the Jingshan Suspension Bridge and a small white pool called Milk Lake, which is also a small attraction in Yangmingshan. At Lengshuikeng, there are free hot springs to relieve fatigue, or you can just soak your feet to ease soreness.

If you visit Taiwan, the land of gourmet food, you must try this!
I visited Din Tai Fung in Taiwan, and as the rumors said, the xiaolongbao was really delicious. The thin skin was filled with juicy meat, and when you took a bite, the flavor spread throughout your mouth, making it truly exquisite. The open kitchen format was entertaining to watch, and the food came out quickly. There was a variety of dim sum to choose from, which was great. The clean atmosphere and the meticulously prepared food make it a must-visit spot during your trip to Taiwan.
