National Palace Museum in Taipei

The National Palace Museum in Taipei is located in the Shilin District. It has three floors plus a B1 level, with an extensive collection that cannot be fully appreciated in just one day. It's best to arrive at the museum as soon as it opens to avoid feeling rushed. The museum has a restaurant and gift shop, and there are free luggage lockers on the first floor for convenience. In addition to the permanent exhibits, there are also special exhibitions held periodically. The current special exhibition, 'The Beauty of Silence,' is a collaboration between the National Palace Museum, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, and Van Cleef & Arpels. The exhibition features ceramics, jade, sculptures, graphic arts, jewelry, and clocks, categorized by different themes to lead visitors into the beauty of decorative arts. The exhibition area also includes some interesting dynamic displays and interactive facilities, such as flying in ancient paintings or storytelling through segmented ancient paintings combined with modern illustrations, making the visit more enjoyable and easier to understand. The National Palace Museum is truly the most worthwhile museum to visit in Taipei.
