Tashkent International Airport Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
Before departure from Tashkent INTERNATIONAL AIRAPORT
It feelt a little strange yet interesting flying from Tashkent to Kazakhstan and then fly right to Incheon International Airport. #tashkent
Visa-free country Uzbekistan! Don't be confused before you travel
【About visa-free conditions】
Only for flying in and out, visa-free for 10 days.
.
【What to pay attention to when entering by plane】
I flew from Turkey to Tashkent, and it was customs directly after landing. They will ask for a return ticket and check the ticket number. Only after there is no problem will they stamp it through. It is recommended to print it out before traveling. I showed it to the customs on my mobile phone, and there was no problem.
.
【About the SIM card】
I bought a SIM card that is common in many countries in China first (accurately speaking, it is a network card, which can only be used for internet access, but it is enough). If you only want to buy a card in Uzbekistan, you can buy a ucell 20G for 30+. You can buy it when you pass the customs and wait for your luggage.
.
【Essential APP】
Taxi: Yandex go (Bolt, uber, grab can't be used)
Map: Yandex map (enter the location to directly jump to Yandex go)
Google map (quite versatile, common in many countries)
Translation: Google translation, can translate English and Russian, can take pictures of the menu directly translate and voice dialogue translation
.
【Currency exchange】
Maybe it was because my flight arrived late, I didn't see the currency exchange at the airport, and I didn't find an ATM. I directly tied the card to take a taxi to the city, and exchanged currency at the hotel. The exchange rate is about 1:1714 (1 RMB for 1714 sum, this is the exchange rate on February 16, 2024) Generally, it is exchanged with US dollars or euros. It is recommended to exchange some at the bank before traveling.
.
【Notes on taking a taxi】
Yandex go can log in and receive verification codes with domestic SIM cards. The number is +86, and then you can enter your mobile phone number. I stayed at the Uzbekistan Hotel (in the city), and it costs about 9 RMB from the airport by ordinary car, and about 19 RMB by business car. The software is a fixed price, there is no price fluctuation, so you don't have to worry about being cheated. If the airport helps to book a car, it is about 50 yuan, it is recommended to take a taxi by yourself.
.
【Hotel】
When checking out of the hotel, ask the front desk for a reservation paper, which may be checked when leaving the customs, but the customs did not ask us for it.
.
Because of the itinerary, I didn't spend much time playing in Uzbekistan. I have compiled some useful pre-departure strategies, I hope it will help you.
Tashkent Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
Metro hopping has never been so fun!
The metro stations in Tashkent, Uzbekistan all have their own themes and it was really fun hopping on and off the various metro stations to take a look at the elaborate designs on the walls and ceilings. Truly astonishing details all over the station, one of the most fun things to do in Tashkent. Moreover, the entry fee is really affordable - about rate of USD 0.16 and you can ride for as long as you want visiting different stations without exiting the station. Once you exit any station, it's another USD 0.16 again. #tashkent

Metro Taschkent Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
walk the city’s beautiful metro stations
#citywalk#Silk Road journey -Eye opening experience
I walk the city by visiting the World’s most famous and iconic underground metro in Tashkent.
Tashkent has some of the most beautiful metro stations in the world. The ticket for one ride costs 1400 UZS, which is only U$0.14. Every station has its own design theme behind that represents the beautiful culture and history of the country.
Tashkent metro was opened in 1977 during the USSR times and it was the first underground in Central Asia. the underground in Tashkent was built to last – it can endure earthquakes with the magnitude of 9. it also serves as bomb shelters during war time.
InterContinental Hotels Tashkent Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
Intercontinental Hotel Tashkent | Can be called the ceiling of local hotels
🇺🇿Traveling to Uzbekistan, I stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel Tashkent in Tashkent. The location is excellent, the service is thoughtful, the private swimming pool, you can see the beautiful sunset in the room, and there is a Chinese courtesy. I gave three national characteristic dolls, which left a very good impression on our family. I am willing to call it the ceiling of local hotels.
🚇Geographical traffic: 2 shakhrisabz Street, 570 meters walk from Abdulla Qodirii subway station
🏨Overall introduction: The hotel opened in 2023, all facilities are very new, located in the city center, close to Timur Square and Timur subway station, and only a 5-minute walk from the National Timur Museum, which is convenient for travel. The hotel front desk speaks standard English, answers all questions, the service staff is thoughtful, and immediately brought welcome drinks. The suite room is spacious, the bathroom is super large, and the spare parts are Byredo. The simple black and white color scheme is very recognizable. Not only shampoo and shower gel, but also hand cream and lip balm, super love. After check-in, there are welcome fruits and dessert snacks, and the macarons are delicious.
🏊♀️Entertainment facilities: The hotel has a gym and an indoor swimming pool, as well as a sauna, and there is a lounge area next to it, suitable for vacation.
🍴Catering food: The environment of the hotel's executive lounge is very good, but the variety of food is not as rich as in China, there are more fruits, nuts, snacks, wine, and cold dishes, and there are not many hot dishes. The buffet breakfast is rich, mainly Western food, and the cheese and various fruits and vegetable juices are super rich.
🧸When checking out, the hotel also gave small gifts and 2 dolls wearing Uzbek national costumes. The gift is light and the sentiment is heavy. I will choose to stay at the Intercontinental next time I go to Tashkent.
