Best Sakura In Tokyo, Ueno

#cherryblossom2024 Temples, zoo and sakura Ueno is one of the five oldest parks in Japan open to the public. It is famous for the zoo of the same name, museums and the magnificent spring cherry blossom. The park was opened to the public in 1873. Its official name is Ueno Onshi—cohen, "Emperor-granted Ueno Park." Recommended Visit the art, scientific and historical museums Explore the Shinobazu Pond and the Bentendo Temple Hall See the statue of the "last samurai" by Saigo Takamori How to get there Ueno Park is next to a major transfer hub. Ueno Station can be reached by JR Yamanote Line from Tokyo Station (four stops), as well as by Narita Skyliner train from Narita Airport and by high-speed trains from the west or east of Japan. The Ueno station is quite large, but a separate JR Ueno Station Park exit with clear signs leads to the park. To enter the park, you need to cross the road. The most famous sakura in Tokyo The park is famous for interesting museums, pandas in the zoo, the Shinobazu Pond and the historical Tosogu Temple, but first of all — the cherry blossom. A lot of Japanese people strive to visit the park in the spring. The first cherries were planted at this place by Tokugawa Ieyasu (1543-1616), the founder of the Tokugawa shogunate. These trees, of course, have not survived the past 400 years, but the legendary tradition of admiring the blossoms in the park is still alive. More than two million people come to Ueno Park every spring. Most of them walk along the main alley, near the zoo. About half of all sakura trees grow along it, and at the height of the season, visitors can hardly find a picnic spot. The celebration under the picturesque white and pink flowers continues until late in the evening. Museums There are six different museums in Ueno Park, so this is one of the best places to explore history, science and art in Japan. The Shitamachi Museum, the National Museum of Western Art, the National Museum of Nature and Science, the Tokyo National Museum and the Tokyo City Art Museum are among the best in the world. The not-so-famous Shitamachi Museum has a large collection of historical portraits of Tokyo. Visitors often do not have the strength to come here after visiting other museums in Ueno Park, but if you want to learn more about the daily life of Tokyo in the old days, visit here. In Tokyo, the lower city can be called the plain in the eastern part, on the banks of the Sumida River. This is not the poorest, but also not an aristocratic area. Merchants, artisans, fishermen, sailors lived there — people who earned their living by work. In the museum you will get acquainted not only with the history of Tokyo, but also with the culture, which has not changed in many ways to this day.
