Ginkgo Season at the University of Tokyo

The University of Tokyo is Japan's top university and one of the world's leading higher education institutions. It has produced several Nobel Prize winners. Since last year, I've been bringing my child here to soak in the atmosphere, especially in autumn. The quiet campus during the ginkgo leaf season, combined with the youthful faces brimming with energy, is a place where they gain knowledge and then go on to explore the world 🌍 The Hongo Campus is the old campus and the most worthwhile to visit. There isn't much of a guide, and the campus isn't large, so you can just walk around with your child. Highlights include the statue of Hachiko, the General Library, Yasuda Auditorium, Sanshiro Pond, and the Red Gate. You can have lunch at the Central Cafeteria at noon. I still think the autumn campus atmosphere is the best. The ginkgo trees are the logo of the University of Tokyo. When the leaves turn yellow, the golden scenery paired with the ancient buildings looks very nostalgic and historical. You can also grab a cup of coffee and savor the moment. Even though my student days are long behind me, I feel perfectly at home here. Even elderly people with silver hair, who are spirited and eloquent, make you feel the inclusiveness of this place. This is the power of knowledge and faith! After visiting the University of Tokyo, you can also go to Ueno Park, Ueno Zoo, the Tokyo National Museum, the National Museum of Western Art, and the most artistic Starbucks in Ueno Park. November is the best time for outdoor activities. It's also the off-season for tourism in Japan. If you have the time, I highly recommend visiting Japan during this season. There's no crowding, it's neither too cold nor too hot, and hotel prices are much cheaper than during the winter and summer holidays.
