Soaring Cloud Observatory

Topped with glazed tiles, one can gaze upon the scenery of the South from afar. Without riding the azure ox, one can traverse the void with a dragon-headed staff at will. With a broad view of the mountains and rivers, one knows that friends are near, while the universe feels deserted with but a few clouds drifting. ☁️ Soaring Cloud Observatory, originally named Xuanming Observatory, was renamed due to the avoidance of the emperor's name in the first year of the Qing Kangxi era. It was once as renowned as the Xuanmiao Observatory in Suzhou and the Xiuzhen Observatory in Wuzhen, being one of the three famous Taoist observatories in the South. After the passage of time and changes in history, only the mountain gate of the historical Soaring Cloud Observatory remains, which is a cultural relic protection unit of Tongxiang City. ⛩️ The restored observatory's roof is covered with glazed tiles, towering several meters high, offering a distant view, with its flying eaves and arches fully displaying its grandeur.
