Clifford’s Tower in York

#wheretogo The Clifford’s Tower is such an amazing piece of history from the 1000s. It was previously a Royal Mint, a medival stronghold and a Civil War garrison. It has since been restored with modern fittings and new walkways and staircases. It sits on a small hill against the picturesque backdrop of York. Inside the tower there are many information boards describing the history of the tower from the very beginning. Take the spiral staircase up to the roof terrace and be greeted with a incredible view of York’s historic skyline. This attraction is not stroller or wheelchair friendly as there are many steep stairs and narrow pathways so take note. The queues were pretty long when I visited but it moved quickly. You can get your tickets at the entrance for £9.50 or book online. It was well worth the visit as it’s such a beautiful place. You have got to come here when in York, highly reccomended!
