Esperanza Tulum Hotel Beach

I stayed at Maria Felix, and it felt very private as it was high up and set back. We couldn't even hear our downstairs neighbors talking. The room and the spacious terrace were so comfortable that we never wanted to leave! The view and sound of the sea were to die for. There were mosquito nets, but they did nothing except 'look cute.' They also supplied cooler and more refined water and ice (from the reception!). The bathroom was across the (outdoor) landing. We had a few hot water issues, but it didn't matter. There was also a storm, and we had a bit of flooding in both rooms (Palapas, yo). That was kind of fun and interesting! The beach club was on the smaller side, and we were able to get seats every day without a problem. They save them for guests until 11 am. If you get up early in Tulum? The world is your oyster. We didn't eat anything (Italian on a hot beach doesn't make sense to us!), but the guys waiting on everyone were really cool. They were banging (Christmas) and I had to be a bit merciful for myself while they were serving big groups for big money! By the end of our stay, those guys were practically friends.
