Chaka Salt Lake

Pine Cone "Chaka" is Tibetan, meaning salt lake. Chaka Salt Lake is located on the edge of the Qaidam Basin, nestled between the Wanyan Tongbu Mountain and the Wangga Xiu Mountain. To be precise, it is a brine lake where solid and liquid coexist. The lake bed has a salt layer nearly five meters thick. Standing on the large salt mound in the center of the lake, beneath your feet is a pool of tranquil lake water. The lake water nestles against the snow-capped mountains, and the lake surface reflects a deep blue light and shadow. The sky and the lake surface display the same picture of clouds rolling and unfolding. Salt is like snow, and the lake is like a mirror. Pinch a salt flower and put it in your mouth; it doesn't have the choking saltiness that irritates the throat; it doesn't have the astringent bitterness, but you can taste the mellow fragrance of the salt flower. In the evening, the lake water is serene, and the sky is filled with twilight glow. Chaka Salt Lake transforms from the "Mirror of the Sky" to "Purple Haze Steaming Clouds".
