This guide to the Palace of Versailles is specially written for photography enthusiasts

The Paris Olympics have quietly begun! For those in Paris, besides watching the Olympics, I'm sure you'll also visit nearby attractions, such as the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, and Notre-Dame Cathedral. Of course, museums like the Louvre and the Palace of Versailles are also great to visit (and photograph). The Palace of Versailles is truly magnificent. Upon entering, you need to scan several codes, one of which is for getting a translator, and there is a Chinese translation available. If you want to listen to the full introduction, it will take about 4 hours, and by the end, you'll have a thorough understanding of the place. I didn't listen to the full introduction (my translator was faulty), so I walked through quickly, but I found many spots inside that are perfect for taking photos. 🎨 There are many famous paintings and sculptures inside, making for spectacular photos; the hall's chandeliers are incredibly luxurious, though it's also the most crowded area. 📷 Photo spots: ❶ The best places to take photos are some of the windows you pass by. You can lean against the window, with the beautiful garden outside, and no one will disturb you while taking photos. ❷ There are also some corridors with few people, allowing you to capture a sense of emptiness. ❸ When it's crowded, you can pretend to look up at the paintings. When everyone else is looking at the paintings with their backs to you, you can pretend to look in the opposite direction, creating a contrast between you and everyone else. 🚗 Transportation: The Palace of Versailles is quite far from the city center. You can take the RER C line metro and then walk about 10 minutes to the palace entrance. 🎫 Tickets: You need to book in advance. It's more cost-effective to buy a combo ticket, as it includes entrance fees, translation services, park access, and other costs. ⏰ Visiting hours: 9:00 AM - 6:30 PM, closed on Mondays. It's recommended to allocate 3-4 hours for the visit, as it takes time to queue for entry, and the park behind the palace is also very photogenic and beautiful (requires a ticket). ⚠️ Reminder: Make sure to eat well before you go, as there's not much food available inside. There are bookstores and cafes where you can buy drinks, but the lines for the restrooms are long.
