Liugongdao, Weihai

Coming to Weihai wouldn't be complete without a visit to Liugong Island. To get here, you must come to the harbor in Weihai and purchase tickets using your ID card or passport. Then take a passenger boat out to the island. The trip across the bay is quite fast, around 20 minutes or so. You can get good views of the other boats, birds and the city behind you. On the island, you can use the tourist buggies to travel around, as it is quite a large place. Here you can go to a museum or can learn about the military history of this area, of which this island is very important. There are other points of interests to see also, including the fortreess, submarine, old buildings and a temple on top of a hill.
