Tongle Lisu Village in Diqing, a small wooden house hidden in the mountains.

We were a group of six people in two cars, all of whom had been to Kunming, Dali, and Lijiang several times. We decided to take a different route, passing by the very blue Lancang River, driving on winding roads, and finally arriving at Tongle Village deep in the mountains. It is located in the Three Parallel Rivers area of the Jinsha River, Lancang River, and Nujiang River, and is the largest existing Lisu ancient village in China. On this large steep hillside, generations of Lisu people have made their homes. The wooden houses are the biggest feature of the village. The small wooden houses built along the mountain are all made of wood, without a single nail or iron. The first floor of such houses is for livestock, and the second floor is for people. The wooden houses are connected by steep stone steps. Walking through the village, you will find apple trees beside you and persimmon trees at your feet. The ancient wooden houses we can see today are already three or four hundred years old. Some families are drying corn, while others are drying chili peppers. Now that the road is open, people's lives must be more fashionable. You see, there are coffee shops and homestays, and there is a museum in the small square that tells the history and life of the Lisu people. Achimugua is an intangible cultural heritage dance of the Lisu people. The Lisu people who live in the mountains are good friends with the rock-climbing goats.
