Chengdu～Qiangren Valley Skiing One-Day Tour Guide

Depart from the South Train Station at 7:10 AM, arrive at the entrance of Qiangren Valley Scenic Area around 10 AM. It takes several tens of minutes by car from the entrance to the ski resort. The trip took nearly 4 hours going there, but only a little over 2 hours returning. (I bought a package ticket, so the car went directly from the scenic area entrance to the ski resort. If you drive yourself or buy tickets separately, you need to take a shuttle bus from the scenic area entrance to the ski resort.) There were not many people today, so getting ski boots and boards was quick with no waiting. After leisurely getting ready, I started skiing at 11 AM. The beginner and intermediate slopes at Qiangren Valley are quite good. The intermediate slope is more than twice as long as the intermediate slope at Taiziling, perfect for practicing skills. The intermediate slope at Taiziling feels too short, you barely ski before it ends. There was slight altitude sickness; those with weak stamina or severe altitude sickness should be cautious. For those who can ski intermediate slopes, Qiangren Valley is highly recommended; for advanced slopes, go to Taiziling. Advantages: The ski boots and boards are quite new, the staff are nice and don’t push lessons aggressively, the environment is fairly new and clean, and the best part is the length of the intermediate slope. If you lose your wristband, reissuing costs 20 yuan. If you don’t take the cable car, you don’t need to replace it. You must report the loss immediately to avoid someone maliciously using the money on it. Disadvantage: The snow was too hard today, like cement, and falling really hurt. Clothing guide: Thin fleece quick-dry base layers. Pants: Choose waterproof thin fleece ski pants, and wear sports compression calf socks underneath. Top: If you’re cold, wear a thin base layer shirt plus an ultra-thin down jacket or down liner (double-sided fleece liners are less warm), and a waterproof jacket on top. Actually, you don’t need to buy special ski clothes; hiking or waterproof jackets will do.
