Alaska Self-Drive Tour Day Fifteen - Whitehorse City Art Sculptures

Early in the morning, I took another stroll in the center of Whitehorse and saw quite a few city sculptures that I hadn't noticed before. The history of Whitehorse was ignited by the gold rush initiated by prospectors during the Klondike Gold Rush era, but the majority of the street statues are dedicated to commemorating the writers and artists who left their mark in the Yukon region. How interesting! Is there really any connection between the gold mined and the stories penned? Regardless, 'White Fang' by Jack London, inspired and influenced by the northern scenery, is definitely worth a read, and the movie is also one of my favorites.
