Boyan Ancient Town is located in the southeast of Wu'an City, south of Drum Mountain and north of Nanming River. It has beautiful scenery and rich agricultural resources. At the same time, it has a profound historical and cultural heritage and has preserved a large number of well-preserved ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Boyan Town, under the jurisdiction of Wu'an City, Handan City, Hebei Province, is located in the south of Wu'an City, with an area of 43 square kilometers. Located on the open alluvial plain on the north foot of Drum Mountain and the south bank of Henan, it is a historic ancient town at the junction of Taihang Mountain and the eastern plain. According to the "Wu'an County Chronicles", Boyan Village was built in the first year of the Northern Song Dynasty. Because the village was like a wild goose spreading its wings in the field, it was called Boyan, and later generations changed "Yan" to "Yan". It is located in the west of Taihang Mountain and the east of North China Plain. It is an important channel connecting Shanxi, Hebei and Henan provinces, and it is also the earliest commercial town in Wu'an. Here, there are more than 150 old houses in the late Qing Dynasty. The legendary "county-based gang" in the business world once happened here. At the beginning, several families moved here, cultivated the fields, and later generations moved in one after another, multiplied and thrived, and gradually developed into a market town in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, one of the eight towns in Wu'an. During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, a large number of Boyan people went out to do business, and there were rich merchants and giants such as Fang, Xu, Zhu, Cheng, and Zhai. They built houses and had a great influence. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Boyan Town has always been the location of the district and township (town) government. In 1996, Zhuangyan Township was incorporated into Boyan Town and has continued to this day.
