Xi'an, Shaanxi | Kunming Pool | A Sanctuary of Love

🦋Attraction Introduction Kunming Pool, covering a total area of 3.32 square kilometers, was first built in the third year of Emperor Wu of the Western Han Dynasty's Yuan Shuo period (120 BC). Initially constructed for naval training, it later became a place for boating and leisure. During the Tang Dynasty, it dried up and became land. On both sides of Kunming Pool, there are a pair of stone sculptures of figures. There were also artificial islands built, such as Yuzhang Terrace and Lingbo Hall, and a stone whale was carved in the pool, which housed the large Yuzhang ship. The pool covers an area of 332 hectares and has a storage capacity of about 50 million cubic meters. 🐬Travel Tips The scenic area is very large; you can stroll around to see the scenery and take photos. As soon as you enter the scenic area, you can see a very large statue of Emperor Wu of Han on a boat (quite magnificent), and then walking further inside, you will pass a commercial street. We came at around six or seven in the evening; you can watch the sunset, and there is also a light show at night (21:00-21:10). 🐬The park is themed around love and marriage, and there is also a marriage registration office for the Xi'an-Xianyang New District within it. Walking around, you can see various sculptures and plants symbolizing lovers and love. The center of the park is Kunming Pool, with very clear and clean water, arch bridges, giving the feeling of being in the south of the Yangtze River.
