Beautiful Xi'an

Xi'an City Wall is also known as Fortification of Xi'an. It is a massive compound scaling around 13.7 kilometre and stands 12 metre high in the middle of the Xi'an City. Regarded as one of the largest ancient military defensive system in the world, it was built during the Ming Dynasty (1370). It has four main gates; East Gate (Changle Gate), West Gate (Anding Gate), South Gate (Yongning Gate), North Gate (Anyuan Gate). We went through the Yongning Gate as it is the most decorated one. Visitors are able to walk along the wall and enjoy its inner and outer walls, watchtowers, moat, and landscape from an elevated view. While we opted for cycling around the wall because the place was huge and we were all tired by the walking. we stayed until night to witness the lights on lanterns. we loved the place so much #xian #xiancitywall #china
