Xi Wutai Yunjusi Temple

Xi Wutai Yunjusi Temple is located on Lianhu Road, Yuxiangmen, Xi'an, east of Sajinqiao and west of the Ming City Wall. It is a royal temple built by Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty, Li Shimin, to honor his mother, and is a Buddhist nunnery with a long history. The temple was originally named Anqing Temple, and was named Xi Wutai because it was built with five high platforms modeled after the five platforms of Nanshan Mountain. It is also known as Yunjusi Temple because auspicious clouds are often seen around the temple. It is a national key cultural relic protection unit and part of the site of Daxing City in the Sui Dynasty and Chang'an City in the Tang Dynasty. The existing buildings mainly include the mountain gate, the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the Lingying Platform, the Kalan Hall, and the Mahavira Hall.
