Just got back from Xi'an and have some tips for your New Year's trip. Take 2 days off for a 5-day New Year's holiday. It's definitely worth it. I stayed up late to put together this 5-day, 4-night, foolproof travel guide. Save it now! 📌 💃🏻 What is the itinerary? Day 1: Bell Tower + Drum Tower ✔ The view from the entrance of Kaiyuan Mall is better. You can overlook the Drum Tower from the 5th floor. The night view is amazing. ✔ The snacks on Huimin Street are average. Walk a little further to Sajinqiao for better food. Day 2: Terracotta Warriors Day Tour + Song of Everlasting Sorrow + Yongxingfang ✔ There is a shuttle bus to the Terracotta Warriors at the Bell Tower subway station. It costs CNY 45. Remember to book tickets online in advance. ✔ Buy tickets for Song of Everlasting Sorrow in advance. Buy tickets for the middle section! The view from the east and west sections is poor. Day 3: Shaanxi Museum + Giant Wild Goose Pagoda + Grand Tang Mall ✔ The best place to take photos of the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda is Daci'en Temple Ruins Park. You can take photos of the Buddha statue and the pagoda together. ✔ Hanfu makeup and styling in the Grand Tang Mall costs CNY 199. If you want to take photos with fewer people, go to Tang Paradise. Day 4: Sajinqiao + Ming City Wall + Guangren Temple + Xi'an City Wall ✔ Sajinqiao is a food paradise for locals. Liu Ming's persimmon cake costs CNY 2.5 each. Liu Xin's paomo stir-fry costs CNY 23 per serving. ✔ The easiest route is to enter from Yongning Gate and exit from Anding Gate. You can take photos of yourself and the Bell Tower together. ✔ Guangren Temple is in the north corner of the Ming City Wall. Walk clockwise to see the classic photo spot. Day 5: Meibei Lake + Qin Fuyang Palace + Kumarajiva Temple A local friend took us on this route. He said that to see real ancient tombs and temples, you have to go to the county. 🤣 ✔ Qin Fuyang Palace is a desolate cold palace. ✔ Kumarajiva Temple is a national key cultural relic protection unit. ✔ Meibei Lake is beautiful and not crowded. It's so relaxing to eat, shop, and take photos. If you're looking for a New Year's destination with culture, food, and great photo opportunities, Xi'an is the place to go! ⚠️ What should you pay attention to? 1. Xi'an subway and bus codes are separate. Remember to add the WeChat bus code. 2. Xi'an is very cold in winter, between -4°C and 5°C. Bring a down jacket and warm pants. 3. If you're traveling with seniors or children, adjust your itinerary and consider museums and indoor activities.
