Here, the blue sea meets the lush greenery of Xiamen. We spent half a day visiting Nanputuo Temple and Zengcuo'an in Xiamen. It was a short trip that combined Zen and the hustle and bustle of life. ❤️ First Stop: Nanputuo Temple - Serenity in the Bustle We disembarked from the cruise ship at noon and arrived at Nanputuo Temple after a 10-minute drive. This thousand-year-old temple is surrounded by green mountains, and the morning light shines on the magnificent halls, creating a solemn and serene atmosphere. Entering the temple, one feels as if they are being drawn back to a peaceful inner world. ❤️ Second Stop: Zengcuo'an - Xiamen's Snack Paradise Zengcuo'an is the most down-to-earth and artistic place in Xiamen. This small fishing village is a unique world of narrow alleys, red brick walls, and greenery. However, what truly leaves a lasting impression is the wide variety of snacks. Strolling along the alleys, you can find local specialties such as Tusu jelly, the popular Squid Brother's stir-fried squid, classic ginger duck, crispy five-spice strips, hot peanut soup, refreshing coconut milk, uniquely flavored kudzu root and poria cake, and juicy volcanic fruit... Although the half-day trip to Xiamen was short, it was enough to experience the city's artistic and gentle charm. From the Zen tranquility of Nanputuo Temple to the lively hustle and bustle of Zengcuo'an, Xiamen has its own unique way of making winter warm and colorful.
