Historic Gulangyu Island 🏝🏛🏘

Gulangyou its a tiny (only 2 km2), pretty island off the coast of Xiamen in Fujian Province. 🏝 Especially famous for its historic architectural heritage and its diverse subtropical nature, the island is entirely pedestrian zone! 🚶🏃🚶 No cars, motorbikes or even bikes are allowed... That makes it extremely enjoyable to visit! The island hosts hundreds of beautiful colonial style buildings over a century old and several museums... 🏘 That's why Gulangyu holds the reputation of "Exhibition of the World’s Architecture" and has been enlisted as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. 🏛 ~~~ Recommended Visiting time: 1 - 2 days Tickets: The island is free, however some of the attractions on the island have entrance ticket. Where to stay: Yunji Hotel, conveniently located in the middle of the island, in a beautiful historic building and close to many restaurants.
