Kumbum Monastery 📿Kumbum Monastery, also known as Ta'er Monastery, is one of the six major monasteries of the Gelug sect of Tibetan Buddhism in China. The founder of the Gelug sect, Tsongkhapa, was born in Huangzhong, Qinghai, and later went to Tibet to study and establish the Gelug sect. His mother, missing her son, built a pagoda, the "Julieta", at his birthplace in 1379 under the guidance of Tsongkhapa. This is the earliest building of Kumbum Monastery. 🌟The artistic treasures of Kumbum Monastery are mainly reflected in butter sculptures, murals, and embroidery, known as the "three unique arts of Kumbum Monastery": 1️⃣Butter sculptures are lifelike and colorful, and are important exhibits in the annual Buddhist activities of Kumbum Monastery.
