On this day, the Dai minority celebrates the New Year. For the Dai people, it is a ritual of bestowing blessings on others. The more water splashes out, the more blessings and happiness for the one who gets wet. This happens sometime between 12 and (according to the Gregorian calendar, from April 13 in Sishunbanna in 2017). Door Closing Festival and Door Opening Festival (Dai ethnic minority) It is more of a fast than a festival, as festival events are closely related to Buddhism and daily life. Theravada Buddhist ceremonies will be held in the village at fairly frequent intervals, usually every 7 days. The festival of the ethnic minority of Hani “Gatangpa” The Gatangpa Festival is held from January 1 to January 4 according to the lunar calendar. This is the Hani festival, which celebrates the holiday by preparing tsampas, holding a ceremony of commemoration of God and preparing the holiday. The Dai youth arrange a meeting to collect wild fruits and flowers, and all people will spin tops. Lahu Ethnic Minority Spring Festival The Lahu Festival is obviously an important day for the Lahu people. The time of the festival coincides with the Sping Festival. Jinuo Ethnic Minority Festival in Temaoka The Temaoke Festival (literally "Iron Forging Festival"), corresponding to the New Year in Western culture, is the most important holiday for Jino and is held for three days, from January 6th to 8th according to the Gregorian (Western) calendar. Ethnic Minority Festival And Baishijia A festival of local people and in honor of a local hero, celebrated with dances and performances. Although the name of the festival can be translated as "One Hundred Excellent Poems", it is actually a transliteration of the word Yi, meaning "hero". Lancang Night-Meigong River - Bonfire Party Every night from 20:00 to 22:00, a bonfire party will be held in Manting Park, which is joined by several hundred tourists. There are songs and dances, special costumes of the six ethnic groups inhabiting Xishuangbanna. The park offers a variety of dishes, including fruits, barbecue and a buffet dinner. Meanwhile, tourists can dance with the artists around the campfire and participate in interesting folk games.
