| West Street. ◾️Xiushan West Street is located in the western part of Xiushan County, Chongqing City, along both sides of the Meijiang River. It retains the complete old city style since the establishment of the county in the first year of Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, with an ancient charm. The stilted buildings by the river have green tiles and blue bricks, with carved beams and painted pillars, flying eaves, and a poetic and picturesque atmosphere of the ancient ferry in the border town. ◾️Xiushan West Street used to be the economic and cultural center of the old city of Xiushan. At that time, commerce was prosperous, and merchants gathered here. It witnessed the changes of history and inherited the memory of Xiushan. It is the street with the most profound history in Xiushan and was once the first street of Xiushan. ◾️West Street has one vertical and four horizontal streets. Some ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties are still preserved, with main attractions including old residences, large houses, ancient theaters, specialty shops, river transport docks, and famous sites such as the Bagua Well and the Tianhou Palace. Reconstructed in 2014, today's West Street carries a strong flavor of the border town, lanterns, and the Tujia and Miao ethnic styles. 📍Travel Tips Geographical Location: Near No. 19, Huan Cheng West Road, Xiushan Tujia and Miao Autonomous County, Chongqing City.
