From the moment you step inside, it feels like you've traveled back in time to an old Hong Kong street corner. The dim lighting and nostalgic decor immerse you in the essence of Hong Kong. From old mailboxes, bus stop signs, lion dance figures, to nostalgic posters and figurines, it feels like you're walking through the streets of Hong Kong, stepping back in time. The unique menu design is a highlight of this shop, presented in the form of prescription slips, adding a touch of traditional cultural charm. The signature product here — the dual-colored sugar water — is a must-try. When you order a bowl, the shop will use creative improvisation to draw cute or intricate patterns on the sugar water, making it a popular item for tourists to snap photos of. On our visit, we tried the walnut sesame paste, peanut sesame paste, taro coconut sago, and steamed egg. The shop prides itself on desserts that aren't overly sweet, and they truly impressed us! The walnut sesame paste had a strong walnut aroma, melting in your mouth, followed by the slow release of sesame flavor, leaving a lasting impression. The peanut sesame paste was equally delightful, with rich layers that made it hard to stop eating. The taro coconut sago was also satisfying, with a strong taro aroma and smooth sago, making it a delightful taste experience. The steamed egg had a silky texture, reminiscent of Hong Kong's Yee Shun Milk Company's double-skin milk, with just the right sweetness, making you want more with every bite. Special mention goes to the dual-colored sesame paste bowls, each with unique patterns that make you reluctant to dig in! But once you start, you can't stop until the bowl is empty. Even if you're full, you can't help but want to finish it all, truly a feast for both the eyes and taste buds. The shop's interior is small with limited seating and a quiet environment, making it suitable for a short rest and photo-taking, but not for long chats. We visited on a rainy day, which made the atmosphere a bit gloomy, and there was only one busy staff member. Perhaps due to the weather, the staff's mood seemed a bit low, and their attitude was initially cold, but as we enjoyed the desserts, the atmosphere gradually warmed up. However, this did not affect our overall experience, as our main goal was to try the desserts and enjoy the food. Considering the prices, the sugar water here is truly value for money! It's much cheaper than desserts in Hong Kong, and you get to enjoy both visual and taste delights.
