Yichang Baili Huang is located in Fenxiang Town, Yiling District, Yichang City, Hubei Province, bordering Yuan'an County and Dangyang City. It covers a total area of 47,700 acres (31.8 square kilometers), 52 kilometers from the downtown area of Yichang City and 28 kilometers from the Three Gorges Dam. The area is rich in wild animal and plant species. It was an important scientific research experimental base for the "Northern Sheep Southern Breeding" project of the national southern grassland construction in the 1980s.
