Wentang Town

Wentang, a small town located in Yichun, Jiangxi, is named after its hot springs. The hot springs of Wentang are famous far and wide for their high selenium content, ranking alongside Evian in France as one of the world's two major selenium-rich hot spring locations. Selenium, as a trace element, has significant effects in cancer prevention and treatment. It also has beneficial effects on joint pain and cardiovascular diseases. It is said that the local cancer incidence rate in Wentang is much lower than the average, which attracts middle-aged and elderly people from all over the country, as well as cancer patients, to visit Wentang. Strolling through the streets of Wentang, one can see foot bath shops everywhere, and a wide variety of selenium-rich foods such as selenium-enriched rice and chrysanthemums, creating a unique landscape. During my few days in Wentang, I experienced the hot spring baths here multiple times and truly felt an improvement in joint pain and sleep quality. I must say, Wentang is a nice town for health and wellness.
