NYK Hikawa Maru

We saw this ship while walking around the park and decided to visit it. Tickets are not that expensive. The ship is very well preserved and maintained. Everything is explained in english also. The view of Yokohama from the ship is also nice. Had a fantastic time visiting this historical ship. Arguably the most famous luxury ship of its time to ply the route connecting Yokohama, Japan to Seattle, United States. Was truly enamored by the colorful history of the ship - from a high end luxury ship sailing across the seven seas to being conscripted into the military services carrying and tending wounded soldiers. And spending its retirement days in the dock of Yokohama as a floating restaurant and event venue. A visit to the ship lets you view the various sections of the ship from during its heydays. From the high end dining areas, accommodations of guests and crews, the engine room to the bridge of the ship, everything was well kept and maintained. You could stroll along the deck of the ship or climb up to the bridge to have some beautiful views of the Yokohama dock and surrounding area.
