Yokohama is the prefectural capital of Kanagawa. The prosperous city is full of a veritable forest of skyscrapers. It is known for its romantic night view. This busy modern port city has beautiful harbor views, Western architecture and the most lively Chinatown in Japan. Many Chinese visitors first come to stroll on the romantic beach front and then go to Chinatown to catch a taste of home. Because transportation between Yokohama and downtown Tokyo is extremely convenient, it is a good place for a day trip.

Did you know that Yokohama is actually Japan's second largest city with a population of over three million and is just less than half an hour south of Tokyo by train..
I did not get to explore Yokohama that much as my Japanese friend brought me on an impromptu visit hours before my flight back to Kuala Lumpur , so it was a rush trip but eyeopening and it also calls for another trip to Tokyo and Yokohama in future…

The Special Nigiri 10-piece set for 2,200 yen was amazing.
This is Manbou, a famous standing sushi bar in Noge Food Alley. I ordered the no-wait set at 9 PM on a weekday. The reason for its popularity was clear from the quality of the ingredients. It's incredible to get such high-quality fish at this price. Highly recommended for Yokohama sightseeing.

Beautiful place with nice restaurant and so relaxing
There’s a couple of nice restaurants with terrace seats so if you are dressed warm enough. It is windy because it’s right by the sea although they have heaters set up, you need layers in winter. Highly recommended for dates and nice dinner with friends/coworkers, I’ve seen it’s a popular place for wedding.
This place is like entering charlie and the chocolate factory or a model T factory. You see the cooks making the products from scratch.
Great views and atmosphere in many of the restaurants.

Geat atmosphere, fantastic place for shopping
Just a great day with the family. So many shops to look at.
It's such a wonderful venue for every tourist visiting Japan, Yokohama to be specific. Beautiful malls with a lot of good brand's shops inside.
From cheap to top dollar, so something for everyone’s budget. Visited during Pokémon Worlds and it was beautifully decorated

dark when we got to the tower
In my honest and personal opinion, this city is way better than Tokyo. Landmark Tower is fancy.
It has restos, high end shops and nearby tourist spots make scenic views from this vantage point.
Superb centrally located hotel within the Yokohama bay area, surrounded by many shopping areas and entertainment areas. The rooms are large and ultra clean.
I would highly recommend this place.

Treasure Sky Hotel recommendation
Yokohama Royal Garden Hotel, located in the west district of Yokohama
Transportation: 5 minutes walk from JR Sakuragicho Station
Decoration: With the headboard pattern of 'Mountain Lily', the flower of Kanagawa Prefecture, art, and the interior decoration based on blue, you can feel the port city Yokohama.
Location: The location is very, very convenient. The hotel is a 10-minute drive from the city center, a 3-minute walk from the Port Future Subway Station, only 1km from JR Yamanote Station, and a 5-minute walk from JR Sakuragicho Train Station. It also provides frequent and convenient trains to downtown Tokyo.

At night, the lights of vehicles shuttling on the road and the city buildings are all lit up. In the room, you can also see a huge Ferris wheel, flashing with colorful lights, immersed in the charming night.
Room: Neat and clean, ordinary rooms of thirty to forty square meters are considered relatively spacious and comfortable in Japan.
A staycation at Yokohama, Breezbay Hotel
#hotelstaycation
I have to travel to Yokohama for some business matter, so I decided ti book this hotel for my business stay, and at the same time enjoy some timeout for staycation. This hotel has been iperating for a good 40+ years and is still operating. The layout and design is a little retro but the room is very spacious and all amenities provided. The layout is very clean and neat as well, and the breakfast spread is scumptous. The location is very strategic, where the hotel is situated just beside the Sakuragicho train station. I will come back again if I had a chance to travel to Yokohama again.
Shomyoji Temple in Fall 🍁🍂
Perfect place to enjoy fall foliage in Yokohama.
This is the Shomyoji Temple. It was declared a National Treasure in 1922.
It was built in 1258 by the Kanazawa Hojo clan. You'll see the main gate with the long walkway to the temple compound. The second temple gate features the two guarding gods Niomon and Niozo, placed there in 1267.
The highlights of Jodoshiki Teen (Pure Land Garden) are the bright red bridges over Ajigaike Pond. The first is Nakanoshima-arched bridge and if there is no wind, the reflection off the pond guarantees a great picture. The second flat bridge symbolizes the entering into a peaceful life.
Location:
Kanagawa Bunko near Sea Paradise about 20 minutes by train from Yokohama station.
How to get there:
⭐️You can take the Seaside line to Uminoköen-Shibaguchi Station (10 minute walk to Shomyoji)
⭐️or Keikyu line to Kanazawa Bunko Station (12 minute walk)

Cup Noodle Museum
The Cup Noodle Museum in Yokohama includes exhibits and a movie documenting the story of how Momofuku Ando invented instant noodles and later developed the internationally recognized cup noodle. There are several activities for children as well, including a CupNoodles Park and a Chicken Ramen Factory. There is also a My CupNoodles Factory for visitors to create their own unique cup, but tickets sell out very fast. We also ate at the Noodles Bazaar and tried different kinds of noodle dishes.

Sea Paradise
#timetotravel
We spent the entire day at the Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise for my boyfriend’s birthday. The park is pretty large and includes several different areas: the Aqua Museum, Dolphin Fantasy, Umi Farm, and Fureai Lagoon. There are also some rides and several eateries around. We awed at the massive polar bear in the Aqua Museum, watched a marine mammal show and dolphin performances, and rode the Leviathan roller coaster. Definitely a fun and educational day.

Gumyo-ji
Adress : 〒232-0067 Kanagawa, Yokohama, Minami Ward, Gumyojicho, 字山下267番地
Between the Keikyu Gumyoji and the subway, there are a lot of famous Gumyoji shops, new and old shops. I ate yakitori and croquettes while walking, and went shopping at a pickle shop before heading home. After getting off at Yokohama Municipal Subway "Gumyoji Station" and passing through the arcade of Gumyoji Shopping Street, you will see the "Niomon Gate" marked by the red lantern of "Zuiosan Rengein Gumyoji", which is said to be the oldest temple in Yokohama. I can see it.
Go through the Niomon Gate and climb the stairs while looking at the Jizo Bodhisattva on your left.
1300 years ago, in 737, the monk Gyoki, who was ordered by Emperor Shomu to quell the plague, built a thatched hut on this ground and prayed for carvings when he traveled around the country to pray for peace. It is said that the current principal image is the ``Eleven-faced Kanzeon Bodhisattva'' (nationally designated important cultural property).
After that, in 1044, the main hall was built by Kouei Shonin, and in the Kamakura period, ``Gumyoji'' was replaced with ``Ku'' in ``Kosei Shinjokai'' in the Kannon Sutra. It became Gumyoji Temple, and the current main hall was rebuilt in 1766 by Chiko Shonin.
The Izakaya in Town, Bunzo
#timetotravel
The Minato Mirai Area is full of eateries and food outlets, and after work we were looking for a place for dinner with some alcohols. We came across this shop called Bunzo, that sells several hundreds of dishes paired with alcohols. We ordered the grilles chicken yakitori, tuna sashimi, fish cakes, steamed octopus etc. The atmosphere is very lively full of workers "salaryman in Japanese term", and we really had a great time talking and chatting away to our liking. It's a place where formalities are excused, only laughter and talking. Part of the enjoyment after work, indeed.

Business Hotel with excellent view, Washington Hotel
#freehotelstay
Minato Mirai 21 Area, also known as Sakuragicho, is the most modern area of Yokohama. The best view is the bay overlooking the Ferris view and the City Hall buildings with Landmark Tower and Queens Tower. This hotel called Washington Hotel Sakuragicho, is strategically located in front of Sakuragicho station, where some of the rooms have excellent direct view to the bay. We got the family room and the view is excellent considering the price that we pay is very reasonable. Room is quite spacious and all amenities is provided, while breakfast is also good with a wide variety of food available. It's a very good choice of accommodation for business travelers to Yokohama.
