Traveling to Yunnan in winter? This guide is all you need! Many friends ask me what to do in Yunnan in winter. My answer is always to see the cherry blossoms, snow-capped mountains, seagulls, and red metasequoia trees. 🚶 My guide for you 1️⃣ Dali 🟡 Day 1: Erhai Lake cycling → Shuanglang Ancient Town → Xiaoputuo → Wenbi Village The first stop in Dali is a must-try: cycling around Erhai Lake. Start from Longkan Wharf and cycle along Erhai Lake to Haixi Park. The route is lined with seagulls and red metasequoia trees, and the scenery is stunning. Then head to Shuanglang, Xiaoputuo, and Wenbi Village. The sea view is wide, and you can see Cangshan Mountain on the other side. 🟡 Day 2: Xizhou Ancient Town → Cherry blossom viewing In Meet Yourself, the tree and rice field where Xu Hongdou cried are in Xizhou Ancient Town. It's a great place to take a stroll. In the afternoon, head to Qingbi Stream, a great place to see cherry blossoms in winter. 2️⃣ Lijiang 🟡 Day 3: Black Dragon Pool Park → Baisha Ancient Town → Yuhu Village → Dayu Village Instead of squeezing through the crowds in Lijiang Ancient Town, go to Black Dragon Pool Park to watch the sunrise, and take a leisurely stroll through Baisha Ancient Town and Yuhu Village. At Longnv Lake, you can see Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. In the afternoon, head to Dayu Village to feed the seagulls. 🟡 Day 4: Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Jade Dragon Snow Mountain takes a whole day. On a sunny day, you can see the golden mountain at sunrise. Watch the sunrise at Ganhaizi, then head to Yak Meadow and Blue Moon Valley. 3️⃣ Shangri-La 🟡 Day 5: Dukezong Ancient Town → Songzanlin Monastery → Napa Lake Grassland I recommend staying in Dukezong Ancient Town, then heading to Songzanlin Monastery. Remember to rent Tibetan clothes for photos. In winter, the Napa Lake Grassland is full of cattle and sheep. A slow stroll is very healing. 🟡 Day 6: Baima Snow Mountain A very niche snow mountain. The route is lined with snow and golden forests, and the scenery is breathtaking. 💡💡 Tips 🏨 Accommodation recommendations: I recommend staying in the ancient town, as it's convenient for dining and traveling. ✈️ Transportation: If you want to know how to buy cheaper air tickets, I recommend flying directly to and from Kunming, then heading to Dali and Lijiang. This will be much cheaper. Don't miss out!
