Taking the Cable Car to Heaven's Gate at Tianmen Mountain

Ride the longest cable car route in the world! The journey up Tianmen Mountain starts with a cable car ride from the station in Zhangjiajie city. This is no ordinary trip, as it features the longest cable car route in the world, stretching 7.5 kilometers and taking about 40 minutes. The large cable car can accommodate up to 8 people. Along the way, you'll enjoy various scenic views, with a bit of thrilling excitement as the cable car gradually ascends the mountain. It's quite an exhilarating experience, especially as the cable car steadily climbs the steep mountain path. Those afraid of heights might need to close their eyes, but there's nothing to fear as the cable car is very stable, and the views are absolutely stunning. Looking down, you'll see the 99 Bends Road, and as you ascend, you'll start to see Heaven's Gate. At Tianmen Mountain, there are two cable car stations where you can disembark. The first station offers a view of Heaven's Gate, while the second is the highest station. At the top, there's a cliffside walkway. Most tour itineraries will take you to the highest station first to enjoy the glass walkway views before descending to see Heaven's Gate. If you prefer to go to the highest point first, you can stay on the cable car until the final station.
