General Chen Mingren's Former Residence in Zhanjiang, Guangdong.

The former residence of General Chen Mingren was originally a private villa built by Lai Ze, the former mayor of Chikan City, Guangzhou Bay. The villa has two identical small western-style buildings, known as the airplane building, also known as the sister building. The sister building was newly built in 1903, facing northeast to southwest, with two floors of brick and concrete structure and a flat roof. It is 19.3 meters wide and 10.3 meters deep, with a single building covering an area of about 200 square meters. The entrance has four Roman-style columns forming a circular porch, with ceramic patterned floors, small grindstone rice doors and patterned iron doors inside. The living room and rooms have flat roof decorations, and the second floor has an open-air balcony, all of which contain elements of European architecture. Although it has been washed by wind and rain for more than a hundred years, it still retains its characteristics. In the 1950s, General Chen Mingren lived in Building 2. The former residence is now the Chen Mingren General Life Exhibition Hall, which is composed of the preface hall and the military hall. The preface hall briefly reviews the important events experienced by General Chen Mingren in the form of a timeline, showing the general's legendary life. The military hall fully interprets the many important events and classic battles of the general in the war years in the form of rich pictures and texts, cultural relics, and scene restoration. The military hall is composed of four stages: the Huangpu Military Academy period, the Eastern Expedition and Northern Expedition period, the Anti-Japanese War period, and the Peace Uprising period.
