Qinling National Botanical Garden

The Qinling National Botanical Garden is a large-scale comprehensive botanical garden jointly built by the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government, the National Forestry Bureau, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Xi'an Municipal People's Government. It is currently the largest botanical garden in China with the most unique geographical location, the highest ecological value, and the best protection of primitive forests. It is also the only botanical garden in the country with the word "national" in its name. The park is located in Zhouzhi County in the middle section of the Qinling Mountains, 70 kilometers from Xi'an. The planned area is 639 square kilometers. There are five geomorphic units: high mountains, middle mountains, low mountains, hills, and plains. The maximum relative height difference is 2417 meters, the climate vertical changes are obvious, and the natural resources are rich. The park has diverse geomorphic units, obvious vertical climate changes, and extremely rich biodiversity. There are 1,641 plants, 154 animals, and more than 2,000 insects. The park's Grand Canyon, waterfalls, ancient plank roads and other natural and cultural landscapes are well preserved. The core protected area is covered with large areas of primitive forests. The complete forest ecosystem and the landscape of the Quaternary glacial landform relics complement each other.
