Exploring the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor and Visiting Zhuhai's Sun and Moon Shell

Since the Shenzhen-Zhongshan cross-river corridor was completed and opened on June 30, it has been bustling with traffic. After the peak tourist season, I drove with friends and family to Zhuhai to visit friends, experiencing firsthand the high-tech 'Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor.' Along the way, the beautiful scenery outside the car window rushed towards us like a spring breeze. The high-rise buildings in Shenzhen's shallow bay stood tall, and the Pearl River Estuary sparkled under the sunlight. Starting from the underwater tunnel near Shenzhen Bao'an Airport, this marks the beginning of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor. Entering the underwater tunnel, the feeling was particularly different. The wide lanes, the dreamy lighting ocean landscape, and the colorful lights hanging beside the underwater tunnel emitted a deep blue light, like a Kun swimming in the ocean, exuding a powerful and majestic presence. Exiting the tunnel and passing through the artificial island, the white clouds were dyed fiery red by the morning sun, spreading their wings like a giant roc. Ahead, you could see the panoramic view of the Pearl River Estuary. The long river water, mixed with yellow sand, formed a sharp contrast at the junction with the seawater. A flock of seagulls soared freely with the sea breeze, their clear calls echoing over the sea. Cargo ships passed through the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge, sounding their 'honk honk' whistles, heading into the distance. Zhuhai's 'Sun and Moon Shell' is a shell nurtured by the waves of the new era. Construction began in 2010 and took seven years to complete, eventually transforming into a new landmark building in Zhuhai. It is also the only large opera house in the Pearl River Delta region, integrating an elegant art hall, a leisure place for citizens, and a tourist attraction. It is also the only grand theater built on an island in China. The 'Sun and Moon Shell' consists of one large and one small 'shell.' The 'large shell' is 90 meters high, and the 'small shell' is 60 meters high, resembling fish fins rising from the sea. The pure double shells create a romantic atmosphere of 'pearls born from shells, shells born from the sea,' evoking many associations: the sun and moon shining together, Chang'e flying to the moon, the moon rising over the sea, etc. It is a profound expression and shaping of traditional Chinese culture.
