Dingxiang Guanwang Temple, also known as Guandi Temple, is located north of the county town of Dingxiang County, Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province. It was originally built in the fifth year of Emperor Huizong of the Song Dynasty's Xuanhe period (1123). It was renovated during the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, covering a building area of 7,000 square meters. The main hall of Dingxiang Guanwang Temple is a typical beamless hall, facing east with its back to the west, three bays wide and two bays deep, featuring a single-eave hip-and-gable roof, colorful glazed ridge beasts, and green glazed trim. The golden pillars inside the hall remain in their original positions, similar to typical golden pillars. The front eave's flat columns and the supplementary columns between the second bays of the rear eave are arranged opposite each other, creating a layout where the front eave's central bay is slightly wider, and the three bays of the rear eave are basically equal in width. Dingxiang Guanwang Temple is one of the earliest known existing Guandi Temples in China. It is a treasure of ancient Chinese architecture, combining structural artistry and painted decoration. The main hall has a long history, with varied and unique architectural structures, holding high research value. It is a nationally protected key cultural relic site.

Qiyan Mountain is located 7.5 kilometers southeast of Dingxiang County in Shanxi Province. It is a regional scenic spot in the Xin-Ding Basin area, also known as Qibao Mountain. The mountain's core geological feature is the Qiyan Cave. The existing thousand cliff-carved Buddha statues share origins with the Longmen Grottoes in Henan and the Xiangtangshan Grottoes in Hebei. The cliff walls bear two layers of inscriptions. In the Song Dynasty, the Huijing Shengmu Shrine was built to commemorate Lady Mojie from the Spring and Autumn period. In the Yuan Dynasty, it evolved into a folk site for praying for children. During the Qing Dynasty, Li Rongjing compiled the "Qiyan Mountain Gazetteer," systematically recording the area's cultural and geographical information. In 2022, the Dingxiang to Qiyan Mountain tourism highway project commenced. The Jin Dynasty poet Yuan Haowen’s poem "Visiting Qiyan Mountain" includes the line "The setting scene is unknown to return," praising this landscape. The existing cliff inscriptions and double-layered steles have fully preserved the characteristics of Buddhist art.
