I'm always a bit wary of animal cafés. Not every place treats animals with care, and sometimes the conditions are so sad that you just feel sorry for them. At Capybara Zen in Doi Saket I was really glad to see how much space the capybaras have. They can lie in the sun or in the shade, or walk away from people when they don't feel like socializing. Most of the time they're happy to say hi: capybaras are very social animals. 🧺 You get a basket of greens to treat them, and they come running the moment they see it. Judging by their pink lips, they'd just had watermelon before we arrived 🍉 They looked pretty happy. 🦆 There are also white ducks paddling in a pond and meerkats in their own enclosure. 🌴 After the feeding we moved to the lounge: a spacious armchair, a little table, the pool right in front of you and rice fields beyond it. Nothing on the menu caught our eye, but we weren't hungry, so fruit smoothies and a fruit plate were just right. Seeing capybaras up close was my long-time dream, and I'm so glad it came true. 💡 Good to know 📍 Doi Saket, about 23 km from Chiang Mai's Old City. 🎟 Capybara zone: 300 THB per adult for 60 minutes, a treat basket is 100 THB. 🏊 Want to swim and stay longer? A day pass with lunch and the pool is 900 THB. 🕙 Open daily 10:00–19:00. #chiangmai #thailand #cafe #chiangmaicafe #localdiscoveries

Doi Nang Mo, nicknamed the "Fuji of On Tai," is an ancient mountain and a popular destination for nature study hikes. Located in the On Tai sub-district of San Kamphaeng and connecting to Mae On in Chiang Mai, it falls under the management of Mae Takhrai National Park. Standing at approximately 920 meters above sea level, the peak offers spectacular 360-degree panoramic views, ancient volcanic soil craters, and a picturesque spot featuring a Buddha statue on a rock outcrop overlooking the reservoir below. The hiking trail is relatively easy at first with a clear path, but the final 2 kilometers become extremely steep. The terrain is rocky, so you must exercise great caution; wearing proper hiking boots is highly recommended to prevent slipping. The view at the summit is truly magnificent, providing a chance to pay respects to the Kruba Srivichai shrine while soaking in the stunning scenery.

Sometimes, the best travel moments are the ones you never planned for. I didn’t expect much when I arrived at Mae Kuang Dam, but the wide-open view of the reservoir, surrounded by mountains and greenery, made me stop for a while. There was nothing particularly complicated about the moment. Just a quiet road, an open landscape and a view that seemed to stretch endlessly ahead. Sometimes, you don’t need a famous landmark or a packed itinerary to experience something memorable. You just need to be in the right place at the right time. Have you ever found an unexpected view like this while travelling? 🌄 #epictravelmoments #chiangmai #chiangmaitrip #chiangmaitravel #thailand #thailandtrip #northernthailand #nature

Chiang Mai has several zipline companies, and after evaluating them, I chose Skyline Adventure's cost-effective "38 Zipline Platforms + Giant Swing + Go-Karts" package 🏁. The package included round-trip hotel transfers and a Thai buffet lunch. On the day of the activity, after being picked up by the driver, we drove for about an hour along winding mountain roads to reach the park. Stepping out of the car, we immediately felt the cool mountain air. I've already participated in two zipline trips with this company and have confidence in their quality and safety. The park is now larger than before, with clean restrooms, free luggage storage, and a protective gear area. My friends and I, a group of seven, participated, accompanied by two professional instructors. After the instructors helped us put on our safety gear, we took an off-road vehicle into the mountains, then hiked a short distance to reach the zipline starting point. Before setting off, the instructors repeatedly checked the safety buckles to ensure safety! The journey involved passing 38 platforms, including ziplines, vertical drops, high-altitude log bridges, and stairs. Even with a light drizzle along the way, we still had a blast, experiencing thrills and excitement. Finally, we soared over a 900-meter-long zipline, overlooking the forest below 🌴🌳🌿 After the zipline, we rode on the "giant swing" beside the mountain to admire the scenery 🍃. The last activity was gravity go-karting, where the go-karts accelerate using gravity on the slope, with free control over braking and deceleration. You can go alone or with a friend 🏁💥 If you want to experience the feeling of flying, you definitely can't miss this itinerary! Having fun with a group makes it even more enjoyable! 😆 💡 Activity Tips 💡 📍 Recommended Attraction: Skyline Adventure ⌛️ Activity Duration: Approximately 8 hours including transportation (multiple pick-up and drop-off times available) 📅 Booking Guide: Book your package in advance on a travel platform. 🎒 Personal Items: Motion sickness medication 💊 | Sneakers 👟 (The park will lend suitable shoes if you wear flip-flops/sandals) | Phone strap 📱 | Mosquito repellent | Sunscreen ☀️ 📸 Photography Service: If you want to enjoy the moment with friends and create lasting memories, you can purchase a photography package on-site, with an instructor taking photos throughout the trip. 🌟 #ChiangMaiTourism #skylineadventure #junglezipline #ChiangMaizipline #gravitykarting #ChiangMaiMustDo #ThailandTravel

Himpha Camping & Cafe serves as a convenient parking spot and starting point for the hike up to Doi Pha Pong, offering stunning scenic views not far from Chiang Mai city. Starting point: The hike begins at Himpha Camping & Cafe, where you can park your vehicle. Distance: The trek is about 1.2 - 1.5 kilometers each way, making it a 2.4 - 3 kilometer round trip that takes approximately 45 - 60 minutes. Difficulty level: Great for beginners and casual hikers. The trail is clear, with ropes available to assist you on the steeper sections. Highlight activities: Enjoy the sunrise, the sea of mist, and a breathtaking sunset viewpoint with a panoramic view of the Mae Kuang Dam. Cost: There is no entrance fee for the hike, but it is highly recommended to park here and support the cafe by purchasing a drink or using their tent camping services.

The Doi Pha Daeng - Pha Man Viewpoint is located in Mae Takhrai National Park, Mae On District, Chiang Mai Province. It's a highly popular nature trail for trekking and isn't too difficult to hike. For the starting point, just pin your location to (Phra Chao Than Jai Mae On). The round-trip hike takes about 3-4 hours, depending on how long you take breaks. The total round-trip distance is around 7 kilometers, which isn't too far. However, the trail is quite steep and rocky, so you need to be a bit careful. It's highly recommended to wear proper hiking shoes. We recommend coming early in the morning when the weather is nice and cool. If you come later in the day, it can get pretty hot and crowded. Don't forget to bring drinking water and some snacks!

The Buddha's Footprint is located atop Doi Saket, on the slope of Doi Bodhirangsi. This footprint is a pair of imprints, each 31 cm in length, and is considered one of the most realistic representations of the Buddha's footprint. When measured proportionally, it closely matches the height of the Buddha. It is believed that this footprint dates back to the same time as the Buddha's hair relic, which is enshrined in the stupa of Wat Phra That Doi Saket. According to the legend associated with the history of the temple, the Buddha once visited Doi Saket. During his visit, a pair of naga (mythical serpent beings) in the form of a husband and wife transformed into humans and offered lotus flowers from a nearby pond to the Buddha. The spot where the flowers were offered is thought to be where the Buddha left his paired footprints, which feature the Dharmachakra symbol. In addition to the Dharmachakra, the footprints also display distinct patterns resembling the veins of lotus leaves. Make sure to visit and pay your respects to the Buddha's Footprint at Wat Phra That Doi Saket at least once in your lifetime.

#RegisterAugustHotelTester2025 Wat Phra That Doi Saket is located on a small hill in Doi Saket, an area famous for its zip lines and hot springs. Founded in 1112, it occupies a vast expanse and has grown ever larger. The temple is still undergoing renovations, including an enormous reclining Buddha statue and a Buddha footprint. Similar to Chiang Mai's most famous Wat Phra That Doi Saket, the entrance features a long staircase flanked by serpent-like Nagas (or a direct car ride). The complex boasts several beautiful buildings, including a stupa housing Buddha's hair relic and a lecture hall where artist Chaiwat Wannanon spent four years painting modern Buddhist murals in the 1990s, making it one of the few temples in Thailand to feature modern art. On another nearby hilltop, there stands a magnificent golden seated Buddha. It requires a bit of leg strength to reach it, as one has to climb over 200 steps from the ground. However, the scenery becomes more beautiful the higher one climbs. After reaching the platform, one can overlook the lush green fields below the mountain. It is well worth a visit.

#MarchGoodPlaces2025 On the road from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai, you will pass by a riverside landscape park called Rock n’ River, which is a bit like a complex business with restaurants, hotels and experience activities. Rock n' River's advantage lies in its tranquil environment, with a stream suspension bridge and garden green space. Not only can you play in the water, but you can also fish and release water lanterns and sky lanterns. It also provides an experience of wearing traditional Thai costumes. It is quite diverse, and many tour groups will stop here to rest and have afternoon tea. The entire park is very large, and the landscaping blends in with nature. It's nice to take pictures and it makes people relax. The food is just average, but you can enjoy the green river view by ordering a cool drink, which is actually pretty good. There is also a hotel called Pangfan Resort in the park. It seems that it is intended to be a leisure resort. The whole row of wooden cottages is very primitive and natural, which is very suitable for doing nothing and relaxing. #ThailandTravel #Chiangmai #Chiangrai
