2026 Doi Saket Travel Guide: must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transport & travel experiences (updated in July)

Chiang Mai has several zipline companies, and after evaluating them, I chose Skyline Adventure's cost-effective "38 Zipline Platforms + Giant Swing + Go-Karts" package 🏁. The package included round-trip hotel transfers and a Thai buffet lunch. On the day of the activity, after being picked up by the driver, we drove for about an hour along winding mountain roads to reach the park. Stepping out of the car, we immediately felt the cool mountain air. I've already participated in two zipline trips with this company and have confidence in their quality and safety. The park is now larger than before, with clean restrooms, free luggage storage, and a protective gear area. My friends and I, a group of seven, participated, accompanied by two professional instructors. After the instructors helped us put on our safety gear, we took an off-road vehicle into the mountains, then hiked a short distance to reach the zipline starting point. Before setting off, the instructors repeatedly checked the safety buckles to ensure safety! The journey involved passing 38 platforms, including ziplines, vertical drops, high-altitude log bridges, and stairs. Even with a light drizzle along the way, we still had a blast, experiencing thrills and excitement. Finally, we soared over a 900-meter-long zipline, overlooking the forest below 🌴🌳🌿 After the zipline, we rode on the "giant swing" beside the mountain to admire the scenery 🍃. The last activity was gravity go-karting, where the go-karts accelerate using gravity on the slope, with free control over braking and deceleration. The trail is clear, with ropes available to assist you on the steeper sections. The Doi Pha Daeng - Pha Man Viewpoint is located in Mae Takhrai National Park, Mae On District, Chiang Mai Province. It's a highly popular nature trail for trekking and isn't too difficult to hike. For the starting point, just pin your location to (Phra Chao Than Jai Mae On). The round-trip hike takes about 3-4 hours, depending on how long you take breaks. The total round-trip distance is around 7 kilometers, which isn't too far. However, the trail is quite steep and rocky, so you need to be a bit careful. It's highly recommended to wear proper hiking shoes. We recommend coming early in the morning when the weather is nice and cool. If you come later in the day, it can get pretty hot and crowded. Don't forget to bring drinking water and some snacks!

The Buddha's Footprint is located atop Doi Saket, on the slope of Doi Bodhirangsi. This footprint is a pair of imprints, each 31 cm in length, and is considered one of the most realistic representations of the Buddha's footprint. When measured proportionally, it closely matches the height of the Buddha. It is believed that this footprint dates back to the same time as the Buddha's hair relic, which is enshrined in the stupa of Wat Phra That Doi Saket. According to the legend associated with the history of the temple, the Buddha once visited Doi Saket. During his visit, a pair of naga (mythical serpent beings) in the form of a husband and wife transformed into humans and offered lotus flowers from a nearby pond to the Buddha. The spot where the flowers were offered is thought to be where the Buddha left his paired footprints, which feature the Dharmachakra symbol. In addition to the Dharmachakra, the footprints also display distinct patterns resembling the veins of lotus leaves. Teow Aew, the name of the shop in Northern Thai means “Walking around”. A wooden house cafe by a stream in the middle of the forest. The cafe has a mysterious entrance and parking. The parking lot is about 200 meters away from the shop. There are signs along the way. You won’t get lost. It is located by a stream.
